NASCAR HEAT 5 PROJECT 98

After 70+ hours of work, here is Project 98 version 1.0.

Thanks to OzzyCon Paints for the templates and Zense and JustLiam on YouTube for their tutorials on modding this game. This includes OzzyCon’s mod as a base file. So all credit to them on everything not NASCAR ‘98 related.

This mod is meant to be a stand alone mod for quick race and offline multiplayer only.

This download is absolutely free for anyone and everyone to enjoy. Although I made it for me and my friends, I have decided to put it up for public download so please note that these cars aren’t 100% accurate to the 1997 season, but are very close and I did my best.

What it includes:

New Start-up & Intro Videos to mimic PS1 Version

New Menu Music to mimic NASCAR ‘98

New Sound Effects to mimic NASCAR ‘98

New Loading and Menu images to mimic NASCAR ‘98

TJ Majors spotter files have been edited to include Bob Jenkins speaking “The green flag is out” and “One more lap to go” when applicable.

All 24 cars from the Original NASCAR ‘98 game plus an additional 8 from the 1997 season that weren’t on the original game for a total of 32 cars!

What it doesn’t include:

Any modification to tracks or their appearance. The tracks will look and drive like the original game.

Original car bodies. The cars are current gen Camaros, Mustangs and Camrys. Sorry, no Montes, Thunderbirds, or Grand Prixs.

Fire/Crew Uniforms, Pit Banners and Pit Boxes, and Driver Appearances. Again, I worked over 70 hours on this by myself and just got burnt out. That’s why is this version 1.0. I may possibly update those eventually and update here.
